Poverty and Federal Government’s “stringent” policy on admission have
been blamed for the inability of large number of prospective students
to gain admission to tertiary institutions in the country.
Every year, the Join Admission and Matriculation Board [JAMB]
conducts examination for candidates seeking admission into higher
schools but not many of them secure admission for the desired course of
study.
The Vice Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University [JABU], Ikeji
in Osun State, Prof. Sola Fajana, said private universities are out to
bridge the gap for admission seekers, but lamented that the high level
of poverty and government policy have negated the initiative. Read more..
